Lawsuit

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on Wed, 04/14/2010 - 07:07

I live in CA and have just been sued by Chase National for a CC debt. I am 72 and my only income is SS and a county retirement pension. I have 30 days to respond to the court or a judgement will be issued against me, I am a shutin in a power chair and I am trying to get legal aid to assist me, if not I will have to get an attorney to come to my apartment. My question is can a county retirement pension be garnished. I know my SS is protected.

Respond to collection calls?

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on Fri, 04/09/2010 - 16:25

A few months ago I had to stop paying credit card bills due to running out of funds to pay them.

Many calls started coming in.

I only responded once each to 3 different creditors; however, it seems that by responding, it is those 3 that call the most now.

The other several cards collection calls are less frequent.

Since I cannot pay any of them, I saw no reason to have a discussion with the others. Whether I have a conversation with those who make collection calls or not, I simply can't pay.

car got reposed

Last week my car got reposed. The loan company gave me 30 days time to pay up the dues. I was 3 months behind on my payments. This was as a result of my health problems. I may be able to start work within a month, but I am afraid that I may again fall behind, because 3 years is still left on the loan with quite a big payment of 300 dollars a month. What can I do? And how is this going to affect my score?

Tips for how to find a job, write resumes, and add job skill

I know this is off subject to credit, but I think it is really relevant I recently wrote an article on another site about how to job hunt, write resumes, and add work skills.

I think it is important with the way the economy is these days, people out of work, trying to find employment. I have some insight on this matter. I have worked 30 different jobs, and learned a lot over the years on proper job hunting skills.

I won't link the article, but if you look in my signature it is under the one listed as Credit Reporting Information.

Thanks,

Letter from collection agency

Hello all, my name is Kellee.

I recently disputed some items on my credit report and yesterday I recieved a letter from a collection agency telling me they requested my appearance at their office on juch and such date and that naturally it was in my best interest to be there.

I realize I do not have to go to this and wont because I will be at work, I m just curious could it maybe be that they cannot verify the debt and would like me to show up and admit to something anything before there deadline is up with reporting back to the credit bureau?
