My boyfriend just received a demand letter from a collection company after 6 six from a credit card company that his exgirlfriend maxed out. If she was not an authorized user and it was not joint account, can the credit card company be made to show signatures of purchases to prove he did not make the purchases? We live in Florida.

I have a question about not paying credit cards. I just sign up for this forum and hopefully u guys can answer my questions. I have few credit cards some of them limit is 300$ some of them 2000$ . my total debt on all of them is not more than 6000$. I was paying my bills always on time-never late for-6years. lately my financial situation got very bad and im not able to pay anymore. I was plannig to do bankupcy but this cost money too which i obviously dont have. so my 2nd plan is to not pay at all because i dont have asets anyway. i just dont want collectors to bother me.

I have been a cash paying person since 2002. Since then I have not aquired any credit, and let the old stuff fall by the wayside. I have one creditor tha has sold off my old debt past the SOL and this new company placed a negative on my file. When I disputed it they have since sold it to someone else? Who is suppose to remove this sold and reaged debt and how do you prove thats what they did?
