American Express turned my account over to a collection agency. I was making payments, but then they took me off the hardship program and I could not afford to pay the minimum amount.
They sent the debt to a collection agency. I negotiated a pay off with the collection agency and have received a letter from them stating the account is closed. I also received a short note from American Express stating the same.
How do I get the negative report off my credit reports?

I had a recent medical bill go to a collection agency. I contacted the provider right away and they agreed to accept payment in full within 30 days and stated they would pull it back from the collection agency. I paid the bill during the same call but would like to try to keep this off of my credit report. If I send a validation letter to the collection agency, will they be able to validate a settled debt? I'm hoping that they will simply not respond.

I had lost my wallet about a year ago and someone opened up a Verizon bill in my name. It was sent to collection for $2300. I never had Verizon I have had T mobile for 10 years. What kind of letter can I send the creditor?

I received a summons and only have 1 week to response. Any idea on how to write a denial letter? I am on a debt financial program and they advice me to file a GENERAL DENIAL coz I don't have enough savings for settlement yet. Please I need a sample letter. Thanks in advance.

Can there be two entries of the same debt?

I have been served papers from lawyer/CA for credit card debt. The original debt was started in Mississippi. The last payment/activity was Dec 2011. Am I correct that since the SOL in MS is 3 yrs that the SOL has expired? I have since lived in NV and UT.
I will respond to the papers thru the court and then send out DV etc as stated in these forums.
Is there anything else I need to do or know to get thru this...very intimidating experience for sure. Thought the SOL had expired.

How much will your score go up if I get my judgment removed from my credit report?

I am a co-signer on my daughters student loan from Chase, she graduated and could not get a job, then, when she did get one, she got sick and had to have surgery. So consequently she missed 2 payments or about $150 and when I tried to communicate with Chase to bring up to date they told me the loan was with a collection agency; affecting her credit and mine

i have a private student loan which orginated in 2006. i live in texas and the loan comes from Pennsylvania. what is the statue of limitations. I have a cosigner which is my daughter on this account and originally the account was in a hardship forebearance. i ran into hard times and the account was placed in collections ruining my and her credit. how can i get her off? they keep giving up the run around-they told her that the account was in her name when she tried to pursue it and on yesterday, now im being told that i was the primary borrower.
