I've found a lot of helpful information on this site but can anyone shed some light on the laws regarding Internet loans in the state of Virginia? I currently have 4 Internet pdls out, 3 of which are being reasonable in working out payment arrangements with the exception of Zip19/Ecare solutions. I have drafted revocation of wage assignment letters but how do I stop the harassing phone calls and threats to send letters to my employer?

What route should I take?

I took out a loan with Payday Max and now it's time to pay. I need to work out a payment plan with them so I won't have to keep extending the loan and my payments go to interest only. I don't think they are licensed in Mississippi anyway. So I'm only liable to pay them the principal. What route should I take? My payment is due Thursday.

I currently have the following payday loans:
Integrity Advance, I borrowed $300 and I have paid back over $800 no idea how much more they are saying I owe probably the full amount
Ameriloan borrowed $400 and I have paid approx $1100 and they say I still owe $325.00
Cash Direct Express borrowed $400 still owe $325 paid over $900
Nationwide Cash $400 paid back $240
Are these companies legal in SC and what can I do in order to stop these from coming out of my bank account?

Are they really capable of filing?

I got a call from 877-209-5454 saying they are filing a complaint in my county about a payday loan I supposedly took out 3 years ago. They had my SSN, address, employment info etc, and said if I don't call them with my checking acct number by tomorrow morning to set up $1000 in payments, a sheriff will serve me a summons at home or work. Are they really capable of filing with the court and all that?
