Contact Dept of Financial Institutions in Indiana and inquire whether the CA is licensed there or not.
All collectors must have a legitimate license in the borrower's state before doing collections. Without a valid license, you can take legal actions against them and file complaints with the state Attorney General and the DFI.
So, they won't take the case to the court because they are not doing a legitimate business in your state. A collector must be licensed to do collections. With that said, they lose legal powers to access your checking account. You should try to make arrangements with the original creditor for payments.

Hi,
You can also provide the name of the collection agency on this following site to know if they are licensed in Indiana or not - http://www.in.gov/apps/sos/securities/sos_securities
