I was wondering what everybody's thoughts were on the tax refund loans that are out around tax season, seems everybody is getting in on the action on that puppy, they are almost like the payday loans with the rates that they charge. Some places are charging over $100 for a small loan, it goes up with the amount of the refund. The intrest rate is unbelieveable too.
I don't think they are a good idea, I think some people look at it as it is just tax money, but it is your money that could be in your pocket instead of some loan company.
Some of these loans are worse than a payday loan. They are ripoffs; with a checking account and direct deposit, we can get our refund in approximately 10 days...often less than that.
Yeah i have to agree with Morningstar...who has been on the forums for quite a while. we just did our taxes and we did get a nice little refund. figure on about 10 days if you have a checking account that you can link with your refund being deposited. this is the best and quickest way to utilize your returns. good luck, and if at all possible try and stay away from those loan places, they make out way better than you do in the end!
refund loan
Hello, again!! Wanna put my ' 2 cents' in. Yep....direct deposit was a good thing for me. I was told my refund would take about 10 days. Actually..it took ( about ) 7 days. None of these extra fees and right into my account. No messing with checks, etc. Loved it!!
One of the reasons the loans are so popular is that you can go to a place like HR Block, have your taxes prepared and get the fees taken out of your refund. This is a good option for people that are afraid of doing their own return but don't have $200 to pay for it, and it also lets the tax prep office charge more since the client doesn't consider it real money and hardly notices the price.
Just an FYI - if you e-file by Tuesday night, your direct deposit will hit the next Friday morning - all direct deposits are done by the IRS on Fridays.
If you have the means to file on your own, do so. But if you are like millions of Americans that prefer to use a service, ask enough questions and read the fine print. Once they start talking refund loans, they fall under the rules of a bank, and MUST follow Truth in Lending Disclosure laws BEFORE you agree to anything!
Every year its something new . Just another way for them to get money out of you if you dont have patience. Car lots using your last pay check stub to do your taxes and get you in a car is just as bad . they also charge to prepare.
Try to do it yourself to save money. Thanks a lot guest (Taxes). It was really great piece of information.
Don't do it. They just simply are NOT worth it.
You mean I can have my refund direct deposited in 10 days or less? What if it is a joint taxes and only one name on bank account ?Can we still do the direct deposit or does the account have to be in both our names? No one even our tax lady who does our taxes every year has told us anything about this. That would be great if we could do that we could sure use the money now but i was figuring on having to wait about 6 weeks. We file long form and efile also. We never use the tax loan places I figured they were high.
If you efile and the IRS accepts your return by end of the day Tuesday, your refund will be direct deposited into your account the next Friday. they only do deposits on Fridays.
Some financial institutions do not allow a joint refund to be deposited into an individual account. Check with your bank or other financial institution to make sure your direct deposit will be accepted first.
You can also direct deposit into multiple accounts. Say $1000 of your refund into checking, $2000 in savings, etc. Up to 3 accounts - even at 3 different banks. All in the same time frame.
One of the advantages of using a chain tax place is the training they receive. I work for one during the tax season - we are all familiar with the direct deposit schedules, refund options, etc.
The tax prep places are higher than doing them yourself, or online, but cheaper than a CPA, AND if you go into a reputable one, chances are the people preparing taxes have been doing them for years. I only work 3 nights a week and I average 2 returns a night, so each season I prepare 80-90 returns a season. Imagine how many returns a full time person prepares! That's a TON of knowledge IF you need it. Most people are better off efiling for free on the internet (start at irs.gov) and getting their refund in less than 2 weeks.
taxes
I went through HR Block to do mine. Been working with them for 8 or 9 years. I think they are very professional....in my area, anyway. Good bunch of people.
We use the same person every year .MY whole family does also. They are not that expensice .We used to pay in SC for filing our taxes anywhere from 300 to 400.00 .But here in Ky we pay like 45.00 .thats a big savings for us. We file long form deductions and all since my hubby is self employed and we also live on a farm and deal in cattle. With all that can wqe still have our tax person e file and do the direct deposit if the bank will aloow it. I am sure they will since they know us on site. A 3 day refund or even 10 refund is better than the 5 or 6 week one we been doing.
Your tax preparer can efile as long as they are set up with the IRS to efile. Your refund can be direct deposit regardless of method sued to file - you can mail in a paper form and still get your refund direct deposit, but obviously that will add a few days ;)
Check with the bank just to make sure, since the people that know you inside aren't the ones that will refuse the deposit - their computer will.
efile today, or as late as Tuesday 3/4, and you will have your refund direct deposited Friday March 14.
Great,Thanks .I will be sure to check with my bank .I will also talk to my tax preparer she has never told us of this possibility.I would think she would be aware of this.
taxes
I use to live in Kentucky. When i did taxes there, it seemed like the fee, I paid was VERY low. I dealt with HR Block, there, too.
HR Block and places like that usually charge per form. So a basic return with 1 W2, no schedule A, no Earned income Credit, just a 1040A or 1040 EZ and 1 state return runs just under $100 this year - and that includes preparation and efiling. Adding dependents, more W2s, Schedule A, sch c, etc increases the fees. Single person with 2 W2s, 2 kids, earned income credit that uses sch A for itemizing would run almost $300 fed and state. You can see where if you have a complex return it can get quite pricey!
The first year we filed taxes here we were really surprised at the price. Vut then I was shocked at the cost in SC .It could have been that we had them prepared by an accountant there. This person we deal with now just does taxes.
It is good that a pro does your taxes for such a low cost. You are really lucky. Anyone who does it himself?
It seems that the pros have the inside on the tax world, they find all the deductions that we as everyday people can not think of, If I could get a descent price I would use a pro, sounds like you have a good price there fireyone.
Gn if you are min my area this guy takes new clients all the time. he even added to his staff. He was agaist all these places that were charging all these high prices, as posted previously, so he went to school and started by offering his services for a low price to his church and the business built up from there.
I will have to get more information off you during tax time, I just may take you up on that offer.
He is always up to date on all the latest tax info too. I travel about 50 min. to go there now but it is worth it. Just remind me around tax time.
will do.
You never know what tax benefits you can be missing so I always like someone who is up to date on all that stuff.
I hope you intend to share with all of us???? LOL, just kidding.
Need info...just ask..that is if you are in my state and area.lol
erb, where have you been?????
I was wondering that alos. She always contributes to the community. Any way welcome back, welcome back, welcome back.
I get a little busy every now and then, today I am baking and cleaning the kitchen, so I am taking my coffee breaks with you.
Welcome Marthe Stewart. Can we have that scone now.
yeah, what flavor would you like there missy???
I think it is hard to get here and spend a lot of time when you are working full time erb, we do enjoy your company, so swing in when you can.
GN is right as always. Sometimes it is really hard to keep up on the posts when you are working even part time. With supper, laundry, homework..it sure cuts time to post short.
taxes
I agree, FIREYONE..it's sometimes ( alomost ) impossible to sit down and do posts. ..with everything going on in our lives. Wanna hear something funny?..the IRS sent me a bill for State Tax I forgot to pay last year. The bill was a whopping $14.00!! Oh..good grief. Well.the letter said "if it's not paid within a certain time, interest will be added to it." They are worried about $14.00?
Hey sdchargers good to see you back.
My irs bill was a hell of alot more than $14, thank god for the stimulus, it paid it off for me and got me off the monthly payment plan.
Wow What did you forget to pay GN?
It was for income that I forgot to report, it came in after I filed my taxes, so it came back to haunt me a year later. I am glad to be rid of it.
Why if it came in after wouldn't they just let you report it the following year? In fact you could have fought it because if it came in around tax time then that would have been in the new year and not claimed until the following year. Sounds like it was their error to me.
Little Free Pantries are like Little Free libraries
June 17 found at 8:00 i'm
at least one time a day, Matthew Nordon drives by the miscroscopic Free Pantry in Lexington Park, m. d..
sitting in his "Loaner" Hyundai Elantra, in most cases with fiancee Tiffany Tucker by his side, Nordon checks out the choices on display in the closet sized wooden cabinet, hand painted by a local artist and stocked by nearby residents.
Days with refined soups and canned fish stuff "You can eat right as is also" great days for Nordon, Who is jobless and living out of his car with Tucker and her mother.
Days with toothpaste or shampoo are good.
"may well make things a lot worse [if the wasn't here], Nordon said of the streetside kitchen. "It's already a struggle as it is,
Lexington Park's pantry, Which opened for usage in June 2017, Is one of over 600 Little Free Pantries set up across the country over the past three years. The motion started when Jessica McClard, A 44 year old mother of two surviving in Fayetteville, the state of arkansas, Noticed a Little Free Library pop up in her hometown. That effort, Which recently celebrated its 10 year husband's, Encourages people across the world to share books via mini libraries made from things like tree stumps or mailboxes.
[This woman turned her tree stump into some what Free Library fit for magical elves. It went viral.]

McClard was astonished to see scores of Little Free Libraries appear once the first.
"deal something going on. And it seemed to have something connected with a need to reconnect with our neighbors, McClard stated. "It wasn't so much about what went inside the space as the space itself and I just knew I would definitely put food in it. I was serious to do it,
She opened the earth's first Little Free Pantry on May 12, 2016 just out-of-doors her church in Fayetteville. McClard's business proposal was simple: Anyone could build minimal Free Pantry (Today there is even a try it for yourself kit on Amazon), Anyone would possibly add food, And anyone may easily take food. She created social media accounts for the initiative and later launched a website.
information moved fast. Two weeks after McClard started out the first, A complete stranger built a second Little Free Pantry in Fayetteville; a few months after that, More than 100 had cropped up across America and the idea had gone foreign someone had built a Little Free Pantry in New Zealand.
"I hoped that diamond studs added to [leave] And believed that it might, McClard pronounced. "It was just soul searching to people,

in recent times, In addition to the hundreds in america, you'll find Little Free Pantries in countries such as Canada, holland and Australia. Through her web website, McClard keeps track of as many Little Free Pantries as she can and provides general advice on where and how to build the cabinets. She estimates at least seven new Little Free Pantries appear per week.
"It's a really neat thing, claimed Tim McDermott, The chief positive change officer for Feed More, A nonprofit that collects, preps, And markets food ukraine singles in central Virginia. "Addressing food low self-esteem takes a lot, And this is another pretty innovative piece to the puzzle that fits a really local need where it exists. Department of agriculture, 40 million Americans including more than 12 million children lacked regular access to a sufficient supply of food in 2017. McDermott said Little Free Pantries are specially helpful as a way to meet the "Emergency should" Of those who are sometimes forced to select from buying food and paying for shelter, Medication or shipping.
Neither McClard nor McDermott advocated placing strict limits on what should go inside a Little Free Pantry. McDermott, Who noted that food insecure people often face ailments, Said high protein food like peanut butter and tuna fish or low sodium foods like fruit canned in its own juice are always a good option.
But Little Free Pantries are not just for for food. Tiffany Childress, 32, Who as well as other members of the MOMS club, A local support group for work from home mothers helped open the Little Free Pantry in Lexington Park, Said the items that disappear most quickly are often personal hygiene items: tissue papper, toothpaste, Tampons.
Tiffany Childress, departed from, And Amanda Jennings restock the Little Free Pantry in the car park of the Lexington Park Library, In Lexington village green, maryland. (meters S. Williamson/The oregon Post)
"I have not really seen most things that did not go out of a Little Free Pantry, McClard talked about. "People should implement this by any means suits their need or their vision or matches their resources,
McClard delivers, but nevertheless, Suggest that Little Free Pantry owners put up signs forbidding items that may cause harm things like razors, Alcohol or glass containers may perhaps be shatter.
additionally to feeding the hungry, Little Free Pantries can knit neighborhoods closer together. Justina Edwardsen a former homeowner of Takoma Park, maryland. Who opened a Little Free Pantry in her neighborhood in early 2018 after hearing about the movement on National Public Radio said she was surprised and delighted by how quickly her neighbors got of the project.
Edwardsen spread the word about the Takoma Park Little Free Pantry by posting on her local community listserv. Within a week or two, The pantry was filling and emptying each and every, And almost everyone she knew was contributing. Childress said small Free Pantry in Lexington Park, Built not in the Lexington Park Library, Took off moreover quickly all it required was a few posts on social media, and also a few fundraising events (For the development costs, Which totaled a couple of hundred dollars) in partnership with local restaurants. Other residents discovered the Little Free Pantry just by visiting the library.
"It brought into view poverty in our neighborhood, supposed Amy Ford, The branch team boss of the Lexington Park Library. "But I think it also gave people a new and visible way compare unique car features,
Molly Edwardsen, Justina's 10 year old daughter, Said she realized the impact her family's Little Free Pantry could have when she opened the pantry one day and found a hand written note tucked inside.
"It announced, 'God bless families,' and then there was the url of a family and then it said, 'A desolate Family,or,--" Molly Edwardsen said. "It just made me feel so happy to have people not depriving,
A thank you note left in the Edwardsens' Little Free Pantry outside their home in Takoma Park, m. d., In september 2018. (Justina Edwardsen).

My own sense of self respect is also resistant to be "compensated for" By an gent who has spent 10 15 years partying and banging everything that moves. that doesn't what I was doing with my 20s,
As for high odds of infidelity, I don see how you come to that one at all.

It would be difficult to understand why someone would get upset at delays if your time, Personally and competent, Has low market price.
As my pals, kinds, partners, And advisory clients can attest, My personal and licensed time is quite valuable, But post assumption otherwise.
I too don like being delayed and find it unacceptable. I also don like paying taxes or visiting the dentist. But adults deal with things they don like with grace since there is no avoiding things we don like in life.
I don express it but people who don have that level of cla of emotional self awareness should be permitted their old white guy jokes.
I don make a shit about old white guy jokes. Go nuts. No one here was objecting to it. We were objecting to the idea you posted that the employees deserved to be treated like morons for things out of what they can control, that you choose to directly stated in the post quoted here (focal point mine):
Get your fucking shit assembled you fucking idiot, I want to pay and leave" Would be impolite and make a shitty atmosphere for everyone involved. to date, That sentiment is actually what a retail store and its employees/representatives deserve
It great that you don tell employees they are idiots for a scanner malfunctioning. It shameful that you seem to think they are idiots for it and would be deserving of such impolite treatment, notwithstanding not expressing it.

I get which saying. I think this has been a more recent phenomenon due to online dating. well Cupid, Tinder, And the rest periodically release metrics which consistently show that 80% or women will only match with 20% of men.
The attractive men are happy casually dating and sleeping with women less attractive than them, But for a serious relationship, They want someone as attractive as is also.
no one is doing anything wrong, But it an equation that leads to a lot of unsatisfied people.

Don't get me wrong I'm completely agree with everyone that owning a home can be costlier and cause more issue financially. There are programs in Georgia for first time home buyers that help with the down payment and other suggestions. You can roll the actual and property tax into your mortgage which helps with not getting a huge unexpected bill at the end of the year.
As far as maintenance i think people would be blown away at how much they can save by doing it themselves. Don't under estimate yourself and it's ok to get both hands dirty. Will you have unexpected repairs and expenses of course but with a house your building equity each month. ponder over it like this if I said you could live somewhere for 5 years and when you leave you get nothing back of what you paid vs half or better which would you rather do. Now unless the housing mark tanks and don't rebuild your whole house you should get more.
If you live in a loft apartment and want to rent out a room you can't with out adding them to the lease. Now if you do rent out a room you can put that money for servicing and repairs.
But I can't stress this enough these are my personal experiences and yes they have worked well for me but it may not be best for every situation. there are a variety of factors like where you live, the strength of russian woman of a house, And how long you plan on living there that can make a huge difference when deciding to rent or buy.

situation a man, Has dress up "good" (Without changing other reasons like muscle size and amount of body fat) Gotten you best results?
It all goes in conjunction. I started dressing better long ago when I went from skinny to in shape. Wearing athletic cut shirts though you aren in shape doesn work.
Does utilizing more on clothes matter? as an example, Is there a big difference between a $50 blazer and a $500 one? Does anyone notice these dissimilarity?
Don confuse expenditure more with dressing better. You can dress well and still be practical about it. Fit is the particular factor followed by design. potentially, outfit better doesn mean wearing dress shirts and suits. It means wearing clothing which fits well.
