Should I cancel my credit card?
Hi,
I am trying to improve my credit score and I am curious about one item: My only credit card reports the account status as "Current, was past due 30 days"

Improving your credit score takes time and effort and will only work if you are determined to make it happen.
My husband claims that if we miss paying our student loans that it does not affect our credit - is this true. Because we have pretty good credit and I don't want to mess it up.
There is a collection agency that keeps calling my house wanting to collect on a debt from 2002 that I have no record of. I originally thought these phone calls were telemarketers and didn't bother listening to their messages until yesterday. Then I heard it was a collection agency. I called the company back asking about this debt I supposedly owed and the very rude lady said it was from 2002 and it was over $2000 on a mastercard that was never paid. I have no record or memory of ever having a mastercard. I told her this and she wanted me to give her my social security number.
Paying that is a good step and paying off any loan is a good way to increase your score. I can't promise a huge gain but it should go up. Paying the late bills is a good idea but they won't be removed from your credit score for 7 years.
Hello all. I went to court in june for a cc debt, judge granted them a judgement. In july I got a garnishment summons and I then filed a chap 7 bk at the end of july. My credit reports now show that this judgement has been added it was part of my bk and I expect discharge any day now. What if anything can I do about this judgement? If I can't get it removed, how do I get it to show incl in bk? Also if they correct it to show incl in bk, how will this affect my score? My transunion fako went down 13 pts when this was added...
Hi,
I'm a recent college grad, and I went to pull my credit and found 9 medical bills in my collections on my credit report. These collections went back from when I was a student in High school, to my 4 years in college. I never received any bills for any of these collections. They are all from the same collection agency and all of the bills are way under $200.00.

Hi all,
I am in hardship programs (for almost all of my credit cards). I had a major loss of income, thus couldn't pay my cards for a few months. They all offered the programs to me to help me get back on track again. However, when I called to ask if I can lower my payments before I was late they refused.
Now, my husband and I might be coming into a large sum of money and would be able to pay off all of these credit cards. What I want to know is If we agree to pay them in full will they agree to lower the debt amounts? And if they do will my credit score be hurt?
