I applied for a balance transfer promotional rate. The balance transfer has been effected, but...I have not received any correspondence, including my first staement or card.

Please advise as I do not want to miss June payment.

I would call the number on the back of the card and ask the customer service department if any payment is due since you have recieved no writen correspondence from them. Get his/her name and employee number and if he/she says no bill is due at this time ask him/her what date you will begin payments. I would also ask them to send you this info via mail. I would then ask to speak to a supervisor and again check on the status fo the card and verify the information from the first person you spoke to, again getting names and employee numbers.

I too prefer to call the customer service cell of the credit card and ask them about the status. But I don't think that getting names and employee ID would help in this case. Instead you can choose to ask them to send the information via their official email.

Ihad applied on-line for a promotional rate/balance transfer from a reputable card (Merrill Lynch). The balance transfer had been taken care of, but, showing up on my credit report as the transfer amount owed FIA CSNA... who?

I HAD RECEIVED NOTHING FROM THEM! No approval letter, NO credit card NO statement.

All I wanted was a phone number. I found an 800 number on one of your blogs... I called, was promtly assisted by a very helpful woman named Christy. she told me they had approved my request for the promotional rate & balance transfer, but... showed a "faulty" address for me. I verified my billing address over the phone, and will receive all info within a week. I am so relieved!

I'll let you guys know if I have any problems with FIA ... but, for now ... I feel confident my identity has not been compromised, and my credit remains in excellent standing.
