There may be a deficiency balance owed on a repo (voluntary, or involuntary)...this is the difference between what you owed per the terms of your contract, and what you paid + what the vehicle sold at auction.
thanks, so next question ..I have had 1 car repo'd but my credit report lists 24 repo trade lines, how do I dispute that? And what are all those? And the repo'd is only a few months from being off my report.

Repo: Default of loan, and the collateral was repossess (even if you voluntarily gave up the car)
