Pcats, The first step in repairing your credit is pulling your report and taking a close look at what is on their...especially the negative listings. Sometomes if you do not keep an eye on your credit report alot of misinformation can end up on it. Go through and if you see any then you will need to dispute the errors with the credit bureaus. We can explain how. If you have any collections that leave you open for a lawsuit and are not past your states SOL you will need to address those next. There are several things you can do we just would need a little more detail of your report.
If there is anything on there that you don't think is right then you need to file a dispute. Keep good records on when you filed things and keep copies of everything. Credit repair takes time, you may not hear back for a little while and with everyday life going on, you may lose track of where you are at, so not everything.

Yes that would be the first thing to do. Get a copy of your credit report. Then review for mistakes, late payments, things of that nature. Why is your score so low? Have you had any late payments? Charge offs? BK?

The credit bureaus are responsible to correct any wrong information from your report as per the Fair Credit Reporting Act and so you should immediately dispute the wrong information with the bureaus. The CRAs should investigate the listing within 30 days from the date of dispute and inform you of any updates. You can find sample dispute letters by visiting the letters of credit.

If the credit report is updated, find out whether the negative information has been removed. Thus, if the negative information is removed, it means that your credit is improving and your credit score is also increasing.

JIMBO....I've tried 2 of these 'high risk' CC's. And I'm here to tell ya..yes..they ARE scams (the 2 I dealt with, anyway!!). I thought (as I was promised, by their advertiseing..) that, as I paid them off, each month, that they would "report to the CB's." Well...no,..they never did. However.....when the fees starting skyrocketing (and I nevr received an explaination why) I just couldn't pay it nymore. THAT'S when they started reporting it to the CB's..when it was a 'negative' rating.

Pcats, The first step in repairing your credit is pulling your report and taking a close look at what is on their...especially the negative listings. Sometomes if you do not keep an eye on your credit report alot of misinformation can end up on it. Go through and if you see any then you will need to dispute the errors with the credit bureaus. We can explain how. If you have any collections that leave you open for a lawsuit and are not past your states SOL you will need to address those next. There are several things you can do we just would need a little more detail of your report.
If there is anything on there that you don't think is right then you need to file a dispute. Keep good records on when you filed things and keep copies of everything. Credit repair takes time, you may not hear back for a little while and with everyday life going on, you may lose track of where you are at, so not everything.

Yes that would be the first thing to do. Get a copy of your credit report. Then review for mistakes, late payments, things of that nature. Why is your score so low? Have you had any late payments? Charge offs? BK?

The credit bureaus are responsible to correct any wrong information from your report as per the Fair Credit Reporting Act and so you should immediately dispute the wrong information with the bureaus. If the credit report is updated, find out whether the negative information has been removed. Thus, if the negative information is removed, it means that your credit is improving and your credit score is also increasing.

JIMBO....I've tried 2 of these 'high risk' CC's. And I'm here to tell ya..yes..they ARE scams (the 2 I dealt with, anyway!!). I thought (as I was promised, by their advertiseing..) that, as I paid them off, each month, that they would "report to the CB's." Well...no,..they never did. However.....when the fees starting skyrocketing (and I nevr received an explaination why) I just couldn't pay it nymore. THAT'S when they started reporting it to the CB's..when it was a 'negative' rating.
