I am in debt with loans and payday loans. I need help. I have bad credit, and don't know where to go to get help. I am hoping someone can point me in the right direction. I have contacted every consumer credit counseling agency I could find, they will help with everything except payday loans. I work and have 2 kids in college. If anyone can offer me a legitimate solution it would be appreciated
The first thing that you need to do is stop with the payday loans! They are only costing you money. If you cant afford your bills this week you cant aford them next week plus ten percent or whatever. Next you need to call all of the companys that you owe money to and explain to them your situation. Your going to want to have made an honest budget that details how much money you can honestly afford to pay these companys each month. Do not offer more than you can afford! If anything you should be low balling the amount you give them to give yourself a cushin.
Once you have called them and made your arrangements keep to your plan. You dont want to give these companys an excuse to sue you.
Now as far as your bad credit you should go over to to credit forum and read up on debt validation and the FCRA.

You need to repair your bad credit and improve your credit score. For this, You need not contact any credit counseling agencies as it will shell out dollars from your pocket. In this cases, what I think is that you can help yourself. You can go through the discussions in this credit forum and I am sure you will find your way out. For repaying your payday loans, you can go for debt consolidation. But as CMBV pointed out, go for monthly payments till the amount you can afford to pay.

Good advice. I've had other people, on this Forum, ask my advice on different issues, concerning debt, CR's, etc. I've given them the same advice that is posted here (..more or less, that is..). Sometimes.........I guess I need to read it myself, when I find myself in a 'down slope' ( so to speak). At times, I feel like I can solve OTHER people's issues and not my own. It's nice that I can come to the Forums and 're-assure' myself. Hope this makes sense.

I was in your same boat as far as the payday loans and I know it has been very stressful to me. I guess I started to feel some relief when I came to the forums and got the help.
The first thing you will need to do is to find out if the pay day loans are legal in your state, and if they are, what are the terms for your state. So if you would please, post the state that you are from so that we can look up your state laws for you.
If they are legal then we will have to examine the terms and make sure that they are following the terms. Many times if you have been paying a long time, you have made your commitment according to your state law. So, the second thing that you should list here is who the companies are, list if they are storefront or internet lender, how much did you borrow and how much have you paid back.
The most important step is to calm down, it is all managable, stop borrowing, and get a grip on your situation. I had 10 loans at one time. I feel your pain, I survived and you will too. :D please provide the information so that you can get started on getting out of this viscious circle.
