How can I get a student loan from Chase that went to collect

I am a co-signer on my daughters student loan from Chase, she graduated and could not get a job, then, when she did get one, she got sick and had to have surgery. So consequently she missed 2 payments or about $150 and when I tried to communicate with Chase to bring up to date they told me the loan was with a collection agency; affecting her credit and mine
