Statue of Limitations on HELOC Charge Off

This July 2012 will be 4 years since our HELOC was charged off. SOL for California is 4 years. Will I be able to buy a house? My credit score is still only 597. We have had great credit for the past 4 years.

It’s very difficult to get a home loan, if your credit score is not good. That’s why you will have to concentrate to improve your credit score first. Try to pay-off your all outstanding debts. Once the SOL period has expired, the creditor won’t be able to take any legal action against you.
