I got a call from someone with national credit adjusters, saying they are collecting for two payday loans I had with VIP Loan Shop and with Ameriloan. I live in NY. I spoke with both of these places and went over with them what I had paid in fees and payments and it more than covers the amount that I borrowed. What do I tell the collection agency? This was from back in 2012 and they just called me yesterday, any chance I should try and get a paid in full email from the two pdl's?
do this
file AG complaints against both lenders, and NCA as no loan is legal in NY,and the lenders sold the loans to this bottomfeeder.try to find an address for NCA and send them a C&D letter certified mail return receipt.btw since both lenders are illegal, and tribal/offshore they again sold it meaning they will never mark it PIF get the c&d letter out knowing NCA is a bottomfeeder.
More than covers the amount that I borrowed
Both VIP Loan Shop and Ameriloan are illegal lenders. You owe them nothing more than the borrowed amount. No interest, no fees. As you have already paid them more than the principal balance, so ask them for the refund. Simply close down your old bank account and open a new one to stop debiting money from your account. Send them a C & D letter in writing via certified mail with a return receipt request. After that if they are still trying to contact you, file a complaint against them to the SAG or FTC.
