I have a charge off in my credit report. It has been more than 9 years. Is it a good idea to pay off the debt or is there a way to remove the charge off out of my credit report?

Usually negative items remain on your credit report for 7 years from the date of your first default. After that it will automatically be removed from your credit report. Since the same didn’t happen, so inform this issue to the credit bureaus immediately.
