Hi
I am new at building up a good credit score. I have read few topics in this forum about credit scoring and have understood that credit score is a very important aspect in out daily life. But I do not have a credit score. Can anybody suggest how can I start building up a good credit score?
To build up a good credit score, you need to build up a good credit history. For this you either need to get a secured credit card or an unsecured credit card. Since you do not have a credit score, you may not get an unsecured credit card, but you can definitely get one secured credit card. For secured credit card you need to keep a certain amount of money with the credit card company and you get a credit card with credit limit equivalent to the amount of your deposit. Now you should spend on the credit card and repay it within the due date. In this way, you will be able to build up a good credit history and once you build up a good credit history, you can always opt for a new unsecured credit card.

credit scoring
Hi
I am just 18 and I am willing to build up my credit score from now. But I don't know from where I should start and how to start. Can anybody tell me how long will it take to build up a good credit score.
Hi Tam
Just start with a secured credit card. You can find a number of credit card companies that will give you such type of cards, but unlike unsecured credit cards, you need to pay annual fees on such cards which may vary from one company to another. Some of the companies that offer secured credit cards include the Bank of America, Orchard Bank Secured credit cards and new millennium bank secured credit cards. But make sure that you repay back the money you spend on these cards on time.
