Got notice of garnishment at work. Single mom making net 1400.00 month. 13 year old debt of 1000 now 5000. Can I offer a lump sum payment of maybe 1500.00 and stop garnishment process?

Have you checked the SOL period in your state? If the SOL period has expired, then the creditor/lender won’t be able to take any legal action against you. Contact with the court and inform them about this matter. You may also consult with an attorney.
