Remove listing altogether from credit report, rather than li

I am working very hard to repair my credit and have been able to pay off a majority of the debts that have gone to collection. However, I am having a *very* hard time getting the collections agencies to remove the negative listings altogether.

By law, they have to update the credit bureaus to reflect that it has been paid, but from what I understand they also have the power to remove the whole listing! PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE tell me any advice you have about how to get them to do this! I'm really struggling!

Well, I guess it's up to them to remove any listings if at all. Sometimes they do it if you've otherwise been a good customer to them.

I'm having the same problem too. I have an appointment with CCCS to review my credit report to see what I can do.
