I have been served a summons. Should I respond?

Has anyone out there using a debt resolution program to lower your debt by 50-60% for what you owe? If so I would like to know if you have received a summons and do not know if to file a response to the court and attend the court.

There are 2 options: 1. to answer, respond and/or attend hearing,
or 2. Not answer, respond and/or hearing on Summons/complaint.

Is anyone in the same situation as I am, I would really love to know what you have done or would of done.

It never helps to avoid court. If you don't show they will get a summons. What does the debt resolution program say? have you called them.

the problem is they don't start cutting any deals on your debt until their fee is paid.

My fee to the debt resolution company is being paid overy month. So they are getting their fee. They are at this moment negotiating my debt. Know the credit company is hoping to get 100% from me because they now that I have been summons already and I have to respond to the court. So if I file, its like admitting to the debt. It is mine but because the interest is so high, the balance has ballooned and so I just can't pay it. And that is why I am with this depbt resolution company. Either way I file or not they will keep negotiating with them. I have some money all ready, enough for them to start the negotiaion and maybe settle. The thing is if I don't repond to the court they can do a judgment and can possibly do a jusdement but it can buy some time for negotiation. And if I don't file there can still be a judgement. So dam if I do dam if I don't.

you need to go to court and ask for discovery and more time. Have you sent a DV letter?

What did the debt resolution company say? How much is their fee? you pay them first.

Well. I am going to talk to the negotiator on Monday and see if he has gotten anywhere with the credit card company. Obviously they want the 100% Now the debt resolution can't tell me what to do or even advise me because they are paralegals that work for attorneys (of course) so they just tell me " in past experiences", this is what has happened. I am just afraid to get my wages garnished, but they say that takes months not weeks. And maybe before they garnish, if I have enough saved, we can settle. Keep you posted.
Thanks
