Is there a page with a correct order of which letters to send fiorst 2nd 3rd etc? I see them but they are specific to exactly what the letter is for. For ex. in my situation i want to PFD and Negotiate the PFD price. So which letter do i send First a dv letter? then pfd? then negoation letter? This site is ton of usefull info but overwhelming still, just like the CC cards. thanks for any help
1. get all your credit reports.
this matters because if something has been reported yet, you can settle it and it will never be listed. this is easier than pfd.
2. dispute with credit reporting agency. If it just pops off then you won't waste money.
3. Send DV letter. This will show you what proof the Collection Agency has and will show if they own the debt. They can't do a PFD if they don't own it.
3. then send a letter offering a PFD
I am sorry I don't understand what your saying. All of my accounts are at least 3-4 years old. They have been sold and bought a few times I am sure, I don't know how to tell. I have probably close to 7 accounts that have been inactive for the se time. I want to clean my credit up. But do not want to just pay off. I heard it is better to pay for
Deletion as will help my score more. I think you have to send dv letter first? I am so lost. Is they're anyone here that works with people to help as a business. Ot could help me closer? Thanks
Start with getting credit reports.
Go to https://www.annualcreditreport.com/cra/index.jsp and get hard copies of all your reports. it is important to get hard copies of all your reports so you have an accurate picture. You have the right to get at least one free copy of all three reports each year
Mykel, I wrote more in depth articles at ehow. start with DIY your credit. there are links in my signature.
Each tradeline on your report may need a different approach, so it is tough to give you a good response to your questions. it depends on things like what state you live in and what kind of debt. as you can see in the steps I wrote, yes the DV letter goes before the PFD letter.
