I have an attractive job offer and the employer is performing background checks. My credit report includes an inaccurate item about a lien that was placed on my account in July 2003 but cancelled in September 2003 however the three CRA's never updated the information. I contacted all three last week (Experian by FedExed documents, Transunion over the phone and Equifax online) and informed them that the lien was placed because of an error and the state had cancelled the lien in the court.
One of them has not yet made the correction in their records and have sent inaccurate information to the Background Screening Company. What steps can I take for the Credit Bureau and the Screening Company to make the correction immediately so my job offer is not jeopardized?
Help please. I need this job.
Thank you.
