My husband died July of 2009, I payed 700 on his cremation the total was 1787.69. When he died are income was almost 3,000 a mo. I'm on disability and he was on Railroad retirement. When he died I got a letter stating I was no longer going to be payed by the railroad and would be under my own SS. Bottom line is I now get 461.00 widow's and 889.00. I can't afford to pay. How do I answer summons. I went to Courthouse and asked for form, they take letters that are properly wrote. So whats a property wrote letter? Thanks from Ohio.

I think that these incomes are protected from garnishment. I think it would help if you try to find a consumer attorney.

OH has a sol 6 years to 15 years.

even if they can't garnish, they can put a lein against your property. Or the judgment can just sit there in case you come into money. lottery, insurance payoff etc
