I need a little help here. I sent a debt validation letter to the Collection Agency (CA), at the same time i sent a letter to the Credit Bureaus (CRA). It has now been about 1.75 months, and not sure what to do about this. Here is the time line of the whole interaction:
8/7/10: Sent letter to validation letter to Greystone Alliance and also sent a letter to the CRA in regards to this debt.
8/13/10: Received green receipt from Greystone Alliance (who works for CA; Palisades).
8/17/10: I called Greystone.. Bad mistake, but this does not pertain to them able to validate the debt. This should not hurt me.. Right?
8/31/10: Sent and received (green receipt on 8/31) a validation letter to parent CA, Palisades, because Greystone was probably not getting anywhere.
9/1-9/20/10: Received letters from CRA (all three Bureaus). All three says it was 'Verified on 8/2010,' yet i have to receive any validation from the CA, Palisades.
Now today: Nothing new, but just need to know what to do at this point? I am following the 1-2 chart and somehow lost. What letter should I write at this point and when do I send it?
Since the CA was not able to validate the debt to me, should i be ready to sue?
Thank you for your response!

Hi
I suggest you to meet the Greystone Alliance people personally and show them the letters received from CRA requesting the to issue a validation letter.

collection agency debt validation
Hi jerry.sonenarong,
Welcome to this community :)
What letter should I write at this point and when do I send it?
Since the CA was not able to validate the debt to me, should i be ready to sue?
You are required to send a dispute letter to the credit bureaus again. See, if this works out. If the credit bureaus fail to remove the item from your credit report file complaint with the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA).
Thanks,
Aaron
Thanx for reply, what letter should i be sending to the CRA again? And what should it pertain?
Should it say something along the lines of:
Please see the method of verification on this debt?
Thank you,
J
dispute letter
Jerry, you are required to send a dispute letter to the credit bureaus. It should be just a simple dispute letter. You can refer to the sample dispute letter at http://www.creditmagic.org/repair/dispute-letter.html .
However, you may need to change the texting according to your situation.
Thanks,
Aaron
Well since you disputed with the CRAs already you need to send them a
method of Verification letter
you are asking the credit bureaus how did they verify this information with the CA in August when they refuse to reply to your letters. send copies of the Green card receipts
Who is the original Creditor?
Thanx for replys,
The original creditors is best buy.
I am about to send CRA (all 3) the letter with the copy of the green receipt that i sent the CA (whom returned it). I will wait 15 days after. Not sure if i should send the CRA the letter with CRMMM, that is my only question.
Thank you,
J
Use CMRRR. this is listed on all three?
Yes its listed on all 3. I just sent them today. HOpefully this gets somewhere.
I wrote them the method of verification, if it takes this long then the CA was not able to verify it and hopefully i can get somewhere, if not, then i would like to see the agreement. Another 15 days....
Thats me above, logging in gets funky...
why did they shrink my avatar, SIGH.

cinnamngrl, I think this has been done just because of some page appearance adjustments. Mine has been done too.

Good or Bad?
I got one mail back from Equifax. (side note: I sent 3 letters, one each to Credit Agency, 1 returned, going to resend that letter on Tuesday).
The result from Equifax is:
"The disupte palisades collection account number XXXX is currently not reporting on the Equifax credit file."
Good result or bad? Not sure how this helps my credit score.
Thank you,
Jerry
you know, I can't whether you ever saw it on you EQ report. Do you have your free reports?
Go to https://www.annualcreditreport.com/cra/index.jsp and get hard copies of all your reports. it is important to get hard copies of all your reports so you have an accurate picture. You have the right to get at least one free copy of all three reports each year.
if it was on your EQ then this means it was deleted
