If these debts are old enough paying these off can initially lower your credit score, as the negatives come to the present. However, with time your credit score will improve.

what state are you in?
what is the original creditor and the name of the CA?
what is the date of first delinquency? 30 days after last payment
I think these are old collection items. thus, the credit score is going down. sgomez, you can try negotiating "Pay for delete" agreement (PFD) on these accounts with your creditors or collection agencies whoever you are paying. With PFD all the negatives are removed.
