My last payment on an Orchard Bank credit cart was in 2006. I became disabled and am not able to work. There was and is no way I can pay the card off.
They are still making my life miserable.
My medicine and doctor co pays take up most of my ssa.

Hi lifemiserable,

Welcome to this community :)

The Statute of Limitations (SOL) on credit cards in Arkansas is 6 years. So, if you have made the last payment in 2006, the SOL has still not expired. You need to set up a payment plan with your creditors.

as for

My medicine and doctor co pays take up most of my ssa.

This can't be. Your Social Security cannot be garnished by creditors (as per the Federal Law).

Thanks,

Aaron

I take 6 prescriptions per month @ $6 each and 1 at $12 per month. Go to 2 doctors each month @ $15 for l and $30 for the other. My disibility is only $875 per month. Of which I pay from $195 to 249 month for electricity and $57 water bill and aproximately $75 car gas mainly because l of my doctors is 53 miles 1 way from where I live and I also live 16 miles 1 way from nearest town. Then I pay $47 mo. burial insurance, $68 house insurance and then food. Just thought I would explain my situation. The credit card bill was made before I became ill. All I have is my SSDisibility. no savings accounts, real estate except I do own my hpme I live in and a 2004 car.

Since you own your home, they may ask for a lein. $47 burial insurance? that seems like a lot.

So if they get lein against your home, then the debt will be paid when the home is sold.

Would you qualify for a reverse mortgage?
