Hi,
I recently pulled all three of my credit reports two days ago (8/22/2010), and I found 3 collection accounts on my report:
One account is scheduled to continue on record until May 2011
Another account is scheduled to continue on record until Mar 2014
The third account is scheduled to continue on record until Apr 2012
I have tried to dispute all of these accounts several times and all of these came back as verified. I've tried to PFD with the collection agencies, but they're surprisingly ignorant.
The SOL in Texas is 4 yrs, all of the accounts above have reached their expiration. I will be graduating with my Pharm.D in May 2012. Shouldn't I worry about these accounts? My goal is to have a perfect credit report by May 2012
What should I do?
collection accounts came back verified
Hi Leith,
If you have already tried to "Pay for delete" (PFD) that means you have acknowledged to the debts. So I don't think you can ask for debt validation anymore.
I think you need to pay off these debts, and request the collection agencies to "Pay for delete" (PFD). With PFD the negatives will get deleted and the accounts will get updated to "Paid" status. However, not all collection agencies agree to PFD.
Thanks,
Aaron
collection accounts
Hi Leith,
Can I know the debt amounts? Do you know who the original creditor is? If you are aware of the original creditors, then I think you can request the original creditors to pull back thew account from collections. Then you can set up a payment plan with the creditors, and request a PFD.
Thanks,
Ronald
collections
Thanks Aaron and Ronald for helping me.
Yes, I am aware of the original creditors. I will request the original creditors as to pull back the accounts from collections as you have advised Ronald. I will also request the creditors and collection agencies to agree to the PFD. However, can I get a sample PFD letter?
Thanks again.
pfd
Hi Leith,
You can use the sample "Pay for delete" (PFD) letter available with this forum at http://www.creditmagic.org/repair/pay-for-delete.html to frame a letter of your own.
Thanks,
Aaron
