Ive seen conflicting reports on this. My question is I have a few credit cards in great standing and no lates. My girlfriend with whom I live with has an alright credit report but has no credit cards open or in her name. If I add her as an authorized user will it report to her credit report as well since we share the same address and live together or does it have to me a family member or spouse to count?

Hi Guest,

If I add her as an authorized user will it report to her credit report as well since we share the same address and live together or does it have to me a family member or spouse to count?

Nice to hear that you are willing to help your partner improve her credit :) If she gets added as an authorized user on your account then your good credit will have a positive effect on her credit, and the account will get reported on her credit report.

You need not have to be relatives, or spouse, or even stay at the same address.

Thanks,

Aaron
