My Landlord has filled a compliant against me for unpaid ren

I have been served a summons by my landlord. The compliant states I owe 3800 in back rent. how do i answer this compliant.

I moved out 6 months into my lease due to unsafe circumstances, but my son's father stayed living on the premises without paying rent.

When you were served the summons, you may also have received an answer form along with the summons. However, if you have not received any such form, you can go to the court where the judgment was filed and take the help of the court clerk. Remember to answer within the specified time limit.

You can also discuss this with your son's father, if you two are on talking terms, because he had been staying there without paying the rent.
