Disability and judgement

I had an old (5yrs) credit card debt that went delinquent when I got sick and ended up in hospital... the credit card raised the payment so high I could not pay.. Now they( collection agency) have a court mediation date and have told me they will get a judgement against me as I tried to start a business to help make money which failed due to lack of funds..... Attorneys tell me to let them win by default.... as they will anyway... I do work on call a few times a year.. and was told Disability income plus $250 in my account is not touchable but they can take my 12 year old car - I live in the country with no bus system and would be unable to get to doctors appts they said it does not matter, to sell and leave me without a car. Attorneys told me to just now show up.. save myself the headache. Chase credit card got off by the government for billions and they go after us for thousands.. Any ideas?
