The first thing you need to do is get a copy of your credit report. Then make sure everything is reported correctly on it. Such as bad debts still listed after 7 years. Inquiries listed longer than 2 years ect. After getting a copy of your report and checking it for incorrect listings if you find any let us know and we will be glad to help you fix any that are not listed correctly.
Great advice from everyone above!!! Also....with any existing loans you may have (Student loans, personal loans, etc.) the more you pay down on them the higher your credit score will rise. 'Income to Debt ratio' kind of thing.
