This is true. Do not give up hope though. Some do not prove the debt and if they don't you can get them removed. It can be a long process but it is better than doing nothing at all. Also for your information only two companies can report a debt at the same time on your credit report. That is the original creditor and the most recent collector. Collectors who bought and then sold the debt can not also list.
