I am not sure about this, if they have the information to do it, all they have to do is submit the bill to the irs, usually only taxes and child support will be with held. You should go to the irs web site and look under frequently asked questions, I am sure they have something there about what can be with held and what can not.
This is a good question. I know the government and child support can take an income tax. I also had a sister in law get hers attatch over student loans that were defaulted on.
There are a couple things you could do aside from what goo natured mentioned...Call a tax preparer office and ask. Let them think you will be getting your future taxes done there. I would not call my own preparer. Also I bet you could call the state Atty general and ask him or her. If you so get this information please stop back and let us know the true answer. it would be greatly appreciated.
Hi Lilome,
I do not think so. I do not think that a court judgment can intercept any of your tax returns unless you hold any federal debt and unless you have to pay for child support. If there is any lien on any your property put by the government, then also it can intercept with the tax returns.
