Forums
on your page about improving credit there are a few errors.
1) applying for new card and increasing you credit to utilization ratio does not reduce your score. it says that not only becuase of the average age goes down but also becuase the ratio goes up. that is false.
2) it also says that a credit report will duplicate if you change your name on your accts. this is also false. the credit report is based off your Social security number, not your name or address.
3) also your pages also states that if one account goes delinquent the authorized user's credit is effected. this is also false.
these should be corrected as soon as possible as this is missleading to ch, however the majority of your site it correct.
thank you
Ok I don't claim to be an expert on this because I am new. But I just talked to one of the credit agencies last week and the man told me my score would be better if my debt to income ratio wasn't so high. My mortgage takes up 94% but being single not much I am willing to do about that. And if you don't pay your bills on time and your account is more than 30 days late then it does affect your credit. That's how people get bad credit.
Hi Goodboy,
Oh, could you tell me which pages are you referring to? Normally this does not happen, but then there are a number of people posting in this forum and they might not be experts in the field of credit. Hence, some sort of ambiguous information may have appeared in the forum. Otherwise, I think this forum provides good information that helps a lot of people.
