Me and my husband are in the process of buying 23 acres so they had to check out what our credit scores are and i was so suprised to find out that mine was a 778 and my husbands was 806 i didnt know they could go that high, know instead of us paying a 7 to 8 percent intrest rate on the land we are now in the 5 percent range because of our fico score .. soooo excited..:)
Oh, yea!! The higher your Credit score, the lower % you would pay for a loan. Mine is NOW 580-600. (For me)..that's a MIGHTY jump, compared to a few years ago!! Slowly, but surely, getting things taking care of.

Bad credit is usually in the 450-580 range. 720 and above will give you the best rates...it is rare to see blemishes on the credit with these scores. Basically, the credit scores that are considered prime are between 720 and 850.Also, you must be aware that your credit rating may differ with each bureau. This is because different creditors are reporting to different bureaus so the data from each bureau can differ from one another.
It will definitely imovrpe your score but not a great deal. The majority of your credit score is recent payment history and recent delinquency. So something negative from 2002 dropping off will imovrpe your score it will not have an immense increase. The best way to keep your score up is to not be late, limit the amount of inquiries you have and try to keep you balance at no more than 50% of your credit line.

You've already shown you're not trustworthy.This is a pretty harsh answer, but it sounds like harsh is something you haven't had enough of yet.
I have heard on the radio about a program that, if you have over 10,000 in criedt card debt, will cut your debt in half as part of the Recovery Act. Wouldn't something like that hurt your relationship with the card issuer

If you are looking to buying a car and you are in the mid 600 – 650 and up you should be able to get a good interest rate. Good being 6% or lower.
