I have 2 medical collections from 2006 ($124) and 2009 ($120).
I fully intend to pay them off. However, I would aldo like to have them removed(deleted) from my credit report. After reviewing this site, I prepared PFD letters (not in the mail yet).
Only the CA's are reporting the Collection, not the OC.
Should I send the PFD's as originally intended, or do I need to go through Validating the Debt on both of these accounts.
I took over a 100 point drop because of these collections.
Your advice is greatly appreciated!
If you are not denying the debts then there is no use in validating them, you seem to think that they are legit according to your post.
Are you trying to get the collection agency to remove their entry? If so, you may be able to work out a deal from them, you can try to do a pay for delete letter, I would make sure that you get it all in writing before agreeing to anything. Make sure you keep copies of everything to make sure that they follow up. Sometimes they will say that they can not delete it, only update the status.
If they chose to only update it, it will stay in your negative column and it will say paid in full, but it will only count as a negative.
Thanks Good,
Yes, I want the entry GONE!
Since only the CA is reporting the collection, I presume I'll move forward in presenting my "PAY FOR DELETE" letters with the CA only.
Anyone see a reason why they WOULDN"T agree, given the nominal amounts?
It is hard to say it depends on the collection agency some will agree to remove it and some won't because they say you were late so they won't remove it. I don't think it has anything to do with how much you owe. Just the fact you were late in paying the debt. Good Luck it could turn out in your favor. All you can do is try.
