I have a few items on my credt report that have been paid but they are still showing up on my credit report as if I haven't made any payments. My credit score isn't changing as well. Why is that? Is there something that I can do to change this?

Hi Joslyn,

It depends on how long ago it was since you paid them. It sometimes can take up til three months or more for the creditor to report to the credit agencies. So just give it sometime then check to see if it has been reported.

Hi Joslyn,

Well, it takes some amount of time to get an updated credit report and a raised score after you have cleared your debts. As far as your credit report is concerned it takes at least 3 months to get updated. So, if that time has passed, then you can call the creditor and ask them whether or not they have reported to the agency. Also you can ask the bureau about their updating time. However, not every bureau updates the report at the same time. Individual bureaus have their own time specifications.

The creditor is required to update account information. I am not quite sure of the time they have to do this in but I know they are allowed so many days to actually update the account. I think you will find it mroe the credit bureaus delay rather than the creditor though.
