Credit Report Question and Dispute

I would send debt validation letters to each of them. Send them certified with receipt. This way they will have to send you proof verifying it is your debt. From what I have read a lot of the collection agency buy the debt and can not verify the debt. If this happens you can dispute it with the credit agency sending them the proof you sent them the debt validation letter and they couldn't send you proof it was yours. Then it should be removed from your credit report. On the other hand if they can prove that the debt belongs to you. Then you can send a pay for delete letter asking them to remove the negative item from your report once it has been paid.

Ok....have a question reguarding the issue above. The OP said it's been "about 5 years ago." I'm sure it's on her CR. Shouldn't the OP find out what the SOL is in 'her' state and go from there?

Yes sure every state is different and if the SOL has past. Then she would need to send a letter to each of them stating that. But don't make any payments because if she does the SOL will start over again. Thanks for reminding me of this. I just assume when they say I owe they have checked the SOL. Thanks
