I have a "paid collection" in my credit report with the company "time warner" (TW). i have already try "it's not mine dispute" with credit bureau ... they answer "It's Correct and Stay" so i want to try the "good will letter" but I don't know if i have to send it to CA or TW ... also if i have to send it to TW does anybody know the address of its credit section or where can i find it? thanks for your time reading my post.
Hi Antony,
Well, didn't you get a pay for delete agreement while repaying the debt to the collection agency? A goodwill letter is normally written to the creditor requesting to remove a negative item out of goodwill. However, you can try it out with the CA if you wish to. Since it is a collection, I am assuming that your debt must have been sold by the creditor to the collection agency. In that case it is the CA who can remove it. Check your credit report thoroughly again, it should contain the name of the collection against the listing.
Good Will letter for Paid Collection
I paid it because i didn't know anything about collections... I tried to call the CA and they told me by phone that they aren't able to remove it because it has to stay in my credit report 7 years... (i think they're lying) would be a difference if i try with a goodwill letter with the CA? or do u think i have better opportunity with the creditor? ( i was always paying at time before miss one payment and because i changed my phone number and move to another place they never told me about that.... i didn't know until one day after get decline a credit card application and see that i have a collection... after that i paid (yes, i was stupid) and it change to paid collection) mmm do u know the address of time warner credit department?
I don't believe in good will much, but it is a alien concept to any collection agency
