regarding a card

We had a card, or have a card. We lowered our credit limit (voluntarily) in an attempt to get it payed off and not go further into debt. We ended up going thru a hardship, we let them know, they would not lower the interest or the payments to help us out. So in the end, they made our card over the limit there by charging us more fees. We stayed in contact with them, let them know we were trying to work out everything and they jacked up everything. Within four months they added almost $700 in fees and charges, now making it impossible for us to come out of it. We have another card with the same company, it had a really low balance, we worked out a payment plan on it. (we had never been late before this happened) We only orignaly owed $300 approximately, now its almost $1,000. This card we worked arrangements and its still open. How can we get them to do something about these fees? We pointed out the fact that we had not been late prior to the last little bit and we always paid, we stayed in contact with them and let them know what was going on. Is there anything we can do for the card they closed regarding the extra fees they piled on, plus the one that is still open?

Hi Bigyankeefan,

I think there is not much you can do, other than talking to the creditor and negotiating with him regarding waiving off the fees. If you are not able to do this alone, you can contact a an attorney who will help you to do this.
