I once had a visa I was late paying off, by 90 days. That was over two years ago. And now I have a mistaken creidt problem created by a company in the past year.
I want to once again have a visa, what can I do to get rid of these negative credits?
You can try to apply for one and hopefully get one to start a payment history on your report. If you keep a good payment history it will eventually start building your credit score up again.
Hi Rrich,
For the mistaken credit problem, I think you need to dispute it with the credit bureau through a dispute letter. As for the late payment is concerned, that will stay on your report for 7 years as any other negative item unless you can negotiate with the creditor. You can send a goodwill letter to the creditor stating your condition and that you wish the negative item to be removed from the credit report.
See if this works and keep us informed about your situation.
