Sara, Was your father listed on your account? If you listed him as a user on the account then you will more than likely be responsible to pay the balance if he does not. The one thing you could do is take him to small claims court and have the judge order him to pay what he owes. You can only be awarded as much as your state allows in small claims.
Now if you did not authorize him to use them you could call the credit card company and report him BUT they may not be real helpful if you were aware he was using them especially over a period of time.

Hi Sara,

So, your father was an authorized user of your credit card right? Well, like Firey said you can sue him. You can take him to small claims court to make him pay his own debts. However, to be able to do this, you must have the required proof that the debt belongs to him. But still if he does not pay the debt amount, then you will have to pay it since he is only an authorized user and you are the primary card holder.
