Is there a way to get an updated credit score without bringing your credit score down? My husband is 2 points from getting our home loan approved and we had a paid collection that we disputed and is now off and took care of a few other things. Not sure what to do from here?

You said that you had a paid collection which is off now. Then it would take some time before you could see your credit score updated.
However, your husband is only two points short from qualifying for a home loan. So, I believe that you can open a bank account with some amount of money as deposit and use it as collateral and take some loan. This would help you and your husband to improve your credit score. You can also get a gas/store card and use it properly, as in paying the bill regularly to boost your credit points.
