I have been trying to fihgt unauthorized inquiries, but nothing happened. It's on all 3 reports, but I only sent Transunion one of those letters on here ( just to see how it goes ). It's been over 3 weeks now...safe to say that nothing will happen.
Just send them a later again? Bug them? I have no idea. They didn't seem to care much.
Hi Sven
Why don't you sign up for the Opt Out Program maintained by the main consumer credit reporting bureaus. By this you can block credit agencies from pulling out your report from time to time. You can register companies for 5 years or permanently. Read through the instructions carefully.
Carol,
I heard that if you decide to opt out then it may lead to problems getting new credit. They say when you apply for credit and you have joined the opt out program the new creditors can not pull your report so they can establish if you are credit worthy. Do you know how true this statement is?
I thought when I first heard of this program I opted out my husband ( I am not completely sure I did) and it has not stopped him from getting credit.
Well, that might be the next step, but for now I gotta deal with it. I guess I will just send them a letter again. I don't think I will use registered mail. It's getting really expensive when you have to send them letters all the time.
I have another question about inquiries. I'll just put it in here. I read the following:
What you might try is to send goodwill letters to the creditors that denied you and ask them that since you had been denied if they will remove the inquiry, or if not, if they will re-code it to a soft inquiry.
Could that really work? :?:

It is true. If you register in the Opt Out program creditors cannot view your report. This might stop future creditors from lending you any money. However, you can make an application to un-register as well. This might take some time, say about a week and then prospective creditors can again see your report.
