I will always appreciate the idea of not taking loans. But there are certain instances when we are forced to take loans. At that time you should at least try not to take any payday loans. This is because payday comes with very high rates of interest and pushes us into a vicious circle of debt. Instead of taking payday loans, we can take advances from our employers, or even borrow from our friends, but most importantly we should cut down our monthly expenses and save it for meeting our emergency needs.
I totally agree with you Carol, I found that just by clipping coupons and be more discreet on what I purchase that my extra cash quickly grew. As much as it pained me I had to take a trip down reality lane and face up to frivoulous spending. Taking a hard look and writing down what you spend on what will be a quick eye opener, then once you do that, take it times 12 for a year and you will see an amount that may make you reconsider your habits and try to put some extra money back.
It is hard to do, I will be the first to admit, I went from spending $3.50 to $5.00 a pack of cigarettes to rolling my own for .68 cents a pack, it takes some work on my part. Now I know I should not be smoking, but this was one of my big expenses and the easiest to use for an example. So no bashing me please, LOL.
I don't blame ya good natured. My husband has even started to see the light of day in buying store brands. He use to be this big named kind of person but that changed when he started going and seeing the grocdey bill.
Hi mike, welcome to the forums, I am not sure that you should be advertising here in the forums. You may want to pm the owners of this site to see where the advertizements should be.
Sorry, I don't think that you will get any business here, here some of us are recovering from the pdl hell and are actually advising others on how to stay pay day loan free.
I live in the state of IL. I borrowed from an online lender. I ended up losing my job, found another within two weeks, however, the damage was already done. I am now in the red on my bank account by $784 due to the fees from my bank. Evidently, the payday loan company sends in a request for payment on the principal, a request for payment on the financing fee, and a request for payment on the NSF fee (all separately), so that is 3 fees of $35 for each request from my bank, totalling $105 everytime this company requests payment (every 14 days).
I found some Payday Loan relief advice from a website that said that you can put a stop payment on an electronic debit just as you can a check. This would keep my bank account from going into arrears too much more, and stay at an amount that I can pay it off easier (I would be able to pay back the $784 within the next month or two). And then I would be able to pay back the payday loan as well.
Is there any other advice that anyone could offer? I desperately want to get out of this payday loan cycle...I have been in it for almost 3 years now.
Peachroses, Have you looked and seen if payday or even internet lending is legal in your state. Believe it..some places it is actually illegal. I hope someone catched this post because I am sure there is a web site to check this out on. Also can you close the old checking account, so they never use that number again to get funds? I suggest even though you got the electronic debits stopped that you should go one step further and open a new account.
One last thing. I see you are new to the forum. Anytime you have a new question you should post it seperately in the ask the forum box. Many times older posts like this one are overlooked by many. New post always get a lot of answers and this would be the best way for you to get advise from many people.
To the folks in Illinois. I know exactly what everyone on here is going through. We ended up with those stupid payday loans. Got one about to try and take me to collections actually. Only thing that scares me is where I work. Just got one large bill paid off. But still short. I know they don't want you to tell it, but I heard actually from a manager at a 14 day payday loan shop, that by law in Ill., if you tell them you are about to lose everything and can't afford it, they have to work with you. Ours they actually cut the interest off, we have to pay the returned check fees and the interest to that point, as well as principal. But then we are banned from borrowing from them. Freedom!!!
However, how do you deal with the 140 day installment loan people? I have one that they want to take me to collections. I'm working 2 jobs, 1 full time another part time, my wife does 50 hours per week sometimes and I'm still whipped because I'm paying nearly 1 grand per month to these places!!!
Try to get rid of them as soon as possible and once you do bank some of the money you use to pay into a savings so if this ever happens you will not need a payday loan. You can give yourself a loan and pay it back to your savings. I have been doing this technique and it really put me on the right track. I hope you can get rid of these monsters. I hate the money they charge just to borrow a few bucks. One thing is once people get caught up in the payday nightmare and then free themselves they not onlt feel great relief but never go that route again.
What I'm saying though is how can I talk to them and get them to stop my interest and work a payment plan with me? Because I'm so loaded with these things, if I pay them, I cannot afford my other bills. And those HAVE to be paid.
I am in a quick sand situation with payday loans right now. I need help. will they actually work something out with you. Should I try to pay 1 at a time
baby,
we need more information.
what state are you from? who are the loans with? Are they storefront or internet loans? How much did you borrow from each and what have you paid back.
If you answer these questions somebody will be along to help you out.
Hi Baby
Yes, you should start repaying these payday loans. If it is possible, you should repay back all immediately, because, these payday loans may push you to a debt trap because of the high interest rates. You can go for debt consolidation loans to repay off these debts as soon as possible. However, for debt consolidation loans you need to have a good credit score. If you do not have a good score, you can take advances from your employer and pay it off.
What happens though if employer advances are not possible? Thats why I conside these types of loans traps. Sometimes people only have enough money to keep making tghe minimum payments, especially if they are carrying more than one loan. You would have to default on one for a few months to pay one off. After that you would risk being sued.
The most important way to get rid of pay day loans is to optimize your expenditure. We spend most of our income on unnecessary consumption. If we can save a very small portion of our monthly income into a separate savings account, it will help us in case of emergencies when we opt for payday loans. Moreover, even if it is urgent and we take payday loans we must be careful enough to pay it back on getting our next pay check.
That a very true statement but I can almost bet some really do not have that money to spend if they are under multiple payday loans. I would try every source I could to get a loan. There has to be one out there that would not charge 400%. In PA new laws are starting in Februaury on the in terest these payday loan places can charge. I have been seeing other states are getting on the wagon so lets hope they all do soon.
Hi Chris
I think that you should take cash advance from your employer or your friends and pay off the payday loan because these loans have very high interest and may push you to vicious circle of debts. If you have a good credit score, you can also go for debt consolidation loans to pay off the payday loans.
I have 4 payday loans. I have closed my bank account that the payments were trying to come out of cause I was so in debt. How do I find out if these companies are legal? What is my best course of action. I can't pay anything right now. But by next month my income will have increased enough that I could start making payements.
So they had me close my bank account the payday lenders were debiting and then they set me up on a once a month payment plan and they deal with my payday lenders so i don't have to talk to them anymore. They negotiate a deal with them and they gave me 12 months to pay them all back with my once a month payment. For me it was a good deal as I paid interest and fees more every two weeks to the lenders than what this RELIEF company charged.
I owe about 2600.00 , in payday loans , I'm trying to find a legit comapny to consolidate the loans and just pay one company . I found PDL assistnce and Langhorne services , both got failing grsdes from the BBB.
Hello Julia, I was in the same boat with alot of payday loans. I contacted a firm called Debt Resolution Advocates. They negotiated settlements with payday lenders and also stopped the collection calls. There phone number is 866-751-1509. I would strongly suggest you give them a try. Good Luck
I also used that company Relief, LLC. I couldn't find any complaints about them online... believe me i checked up on them. The other companies had to many complaints for me to feel comfortable. But Relief has turned out to be quite the blessing. They have already paid off 3 loans in two months and they saved me over $900 so far. I have 6 months left in their program, but i am extremely happy with what they have already done.
It seems to me when i frist got a payday loan .it was fine but someone got ahold of my account infora=mation and they just keep charging thing on my account and i cant get the bank to stop charing me NSF charges so i had to get four more loans and then ther are still not helping me at all these companys like id theft eclubs usa benifits or of couse 200cash payday loan people took 19.00 out tiwce for a loan which i didnt recive AT ALL. They say it will take 24 hors and its been 29 days ... But most of these charges are like 49.95 about 6 of these and every time 35.00 nsf or 25.00 from tel check pepole so i dont know what to do right now im short 262.00 in account and 200 is nsf charges from these people and the the bank lets them do it please help im on a fixed income thats half my check
i am from mass and am in a mes with payday loans. what course of action can i take? i already closed my bank account but i am starting to get calls at work.

I got payday loan help with Relief LLC. I have about 8 internet loans and they contacted all them and got me low payoffs on some and longer payment plans on a few more. I am happy because the payday loans were putting me in the poor house.
I saved about $900 so far even after paying Relief for their services. Since I work a full time job it was worth it to me to have them work for me. You might want to call them and see if they can help you. Just google RELIEF LLC.
some view it as damaging to your credit where others view it as a way to rescue some of your credit, it will depend on what all you put into the debt consolidation. My brother is doing it only with his credit cards, while keeping his mortgage and other finances separated.
So it all depends on what you plan on putting on the debt consolidation, are you planning on doing all your debt or just part of it?

Hi,
Payday loans are short term loans, that are used to pay off dues till a person gets money on his payday. However there are risks related to payday loans as Lillie has said. The greatest risk is that interests add up on these loans very quickly. Generally, the lenders ask for a payment just after the payday. However in some workplaces, paychecks come in late, therefore making it impossible for the borrower to pay the due amount on the stipulated date. As a result the interest adds up.
So it's better to check into the details of the payday loan before taking the loan, if there are any hidden costs, the day of payment etc.
