I see an inquiry on my credit report for NCOFIN in February, but I don't remember applying for any new credit during that period of time. Who does NCOFIN represent? There is nothing to indicate that I owe any delinquent bills to anyone.
Hello gmartin,
I believe NCOFIN stands for NCO Financial which is a very large, popular collection agency. I would maybe look up their number online and contact them to find out why they were checking your credit.
Good luck
Yes, It is NCO financial Systems. If you find that they have pulled out your credit report and did a hard inquiry into it, you should send them a letter by certified mail asking them to verify your authorization or remove the hard inquiry from your report if they fail to provide your authorization. You can also threaten them by telling that you may report to the State Banking Commission and the FTC, if they fail to remove it from your report. Mostly the inquirers remove the listing if they fail to provide you with proof of your authorization. You can find sample letters if you visit the link letters of credit.
