I was out of work for a while and got behind on my car note, I just started back working and paying it again they have accepted the payments but today they came to my job to get the car i did'nt tell them where the car was i ask if I could make payment arrangment and they told me no and they just want the car back I have invested a lot of money in this car and I'm trying not to lose out on this investment. What can I do.

Hi marmar
Since you have failed to make timely payments on the car loans, the creditor can take away your car and sell it out to recover the money. However, you can directly contact your creditor, instead of asking the people who has come to take away your car, for a repayment agreement to pay off the car loan. I think that the creditor will consider your case and will give you a repayment plan because his ultimate objective is to get his money back.

I agree with Justin. Now can you tell us for how long you have been delinquent on your car loan. When you take a car loan on an installment basis, the dealer usually have a "security interest" on your car, i.e, if you do not repay the car installment on time or if you do not have insurance on the car, the dealer can repossess the car. If you are late in making payments, and if your late payments are within the grace period, then they will not repossess the car, but if your late payments exceeds the grace period, they can take away your car and sell it to recover the money.

I have my vehicle financed through Citifinancial. If I've had a 'tight' month, they have been wonderful to work with. Sometimes, I've made Interest payments instead of a full payment. As long as I 'work with them', they will do the same. However.....my car is the collateral for the loan. We have alot of those 'Buy here, Pay here' car lots, in my area. I'll tell ya what.......I've had friends of mine buy cars through them. If you miss just ONE payment, they come and get the car.

If you cannot repay the auto loan on time, the creditor can easily repossess you car as per the loan agreement and you will be liable to pay the difference in the amount for which the car will be sold and the amount outstanding towards the debt.
To save your car from getting repossessed, you need to pay the debt timely. I think that you should borrow the money from your friends or your family members and pay it on time.
