should i still pursue debt validation on accounts estimated

I have looked at detailed reports for both Experian and TransUnion.
TransUnion gives you an estimated date of removal and I have a couple that have estimated dates of this year.
Should I bother sending debt validation letters to the collecting agencies?
Basically once these are removed will I have to worry about them being put back on?
That doesn't seem like something they should be allowed to do but I want to make sure.

Thanks

I have a few in the same situation, I am not going to send debt validation, I am just going to let them fall off but if they would happen to come back on I would.

Well I was thinking since there is an SOL that once that is up they can't do anything about it.
But this one company on there is sneaky. I have another post about having 2 entries on TransUnion for the same debt. They made it look like it was 2 debts but really it's just one. So I am concerned that they may try to get it back on once it's removed.

From what I understand if it is all the same debt they can put it on there twenty times if they want to, it still only counts as one. They have to identify it as the same debt.

I found this out because I had one go through several collectors, so there were many entries for the same account under different company names, I was told that it only counts once when calculating your credit score.

So if you can get the original deleted, all other entries concerning that debnt should fall off immediatley. Goodluck, hope it works out in your favor. Keep us updated.

goodnatured,

If it's different companies that sounds reasonable that it could be put on by all of them but this is the same company. They put it on once in 2003 and once in 2004. AFNI and AFNI, Inc. is what the companies say. Both have addresses in Bloomington Illinois I believe, just different PO Boxes. To me it just looks like they were trying to be sneaky. Plus just a few days ago they sent an offer to my parents house (obviously my old address). They were offering me a chance to only pay half the bill. I'm guessing they are getting desparate because they see it is supposed to come off in April.
I wish I would have been smarter a few years back and wouldn't have had to deal with all this.
Now I am finally to the point where I want to buy a house but I've dug myself a hole. Hopefully I can get all my mistakes straightened out.

Anyway, I will definitely update when I see it come off.

Thanks
