Does anybody know the maximum percentage that can be garnished from an SSDI check for back child support. The "kids" are 28 and 30 years old now.

As far as I know, not more than 25% of your social security income can be garnished for child support.

Hi Squadcar, usually when garnishing wages for child support they will take into consideration bills and opther obligations. It may be easier for you to go and try to set arrangements up before it goes to court and your wages are garnished. They can then add then as arrearages and this will increase your monthly child support payments by a certain amount up until the time the back child support is paid in full. As an example if you pay $200 monthly they may add on an addtitional $25 per month until you have satisfied the past amount.
