I sent out a pay for delete letter to a CA (which is a law firm) for a small medical bill I had no idea about ($125). ayig it is not the problem, but the reporting. Oh, I lso asked for validation a well. The CA just sent back an "itemized statement for my review" but nothing else. The letter also stated that "...it is in violation of the FCROA for our office to remove accurate information from your credit profile...".

thay never validated, correct. It is just an invoice from the CA that looks like a medical bill, but with a caviat at the bottam stating that it was a copy of the original MedSPAR invoice... and it is a communication from a debt collector?

How should I proceed? Ask for validation again??

thanks..

Hi Adam
It is not a proper debt validation. Have you asked for debt validation by certified mail? If you have not, ask for DV again by certified mail. A proper debt validation must include a copy of the original signed contract between you and the OC and the outstanding bills. The CA also needs to prove that he has purchased the debt from the OC.

Adam, this is not proper debt validation. It should have been as Mary said a copy of the original contract between you and the debt collector. I would not pay the bill until they can properly validate. Now if you wanted you can dispute this bill with alll three credit bureaus and have it removed from your account since it was not properly validated.

Does anyone know who or what is MedSpar in upstate NY? My mother got some kind of statement from them. Medicare never heard of them..so, Im trying to find out if this crap called MedSpar is a SCAM..Information on the net, is so limited and evasive I dont know what to think. NO email address either, and their hours to call are so limited its disgusting.
WHO is or What is MedSPAR anyone know? AND if they are for real, I suggest they get more and better information out there on themselves, as right now, they are coming off as a SCAM on the old/elderly people.

hello Sandra, You could also call your atty. general and ask him or her to look into it. Have you checked out the better business bureaus site to see if there is any listing there on Med spar. I would not pay this bill until I had some answers on who the company was and why it is owed.
