I AM UNDER ADMINISTRATION AND HAS BEEN PAYING NOW THEY SAY I'M STILL OWING R66000.00 IHAVE ALREADY PAID R36000.00 WHICH IS THE AMOUNT WE AGREED UPON WITH THE ATTORNEY WHAT CAN I DO TO RESOLVE THIS IS FRAUD PLEASE HELP ME
If the creditor's attorney has agreed to settle for 36000, and if you have written documents regarding the same, you need not worry. However, if you do not have any written document, then there may be a problem. You can send a debt validation letter by certified mail to check whether you actually owe the debt they are claiming. However, before doing so, you should contact the creditors attorney.
Hello tshozi, Do you have any proof that this amount was paid? Hopefully with it being an amount as high as that you used some type of payment method that would prove you paid. Having a copy of an agreement amount would also come in handy too. Let us know what documentation you have and we can help you from there. I would try to call the atty in the mean time.
Firstly I would like you get answers to a few questions
1) What was the outstanding debt amount before you made the payment?
2) Do you have any written document where the attorney has agreed to settle for 36000? and
3) Do you have any other debt in addition to the debt which you have repaid, which the creditor is asking you to repay?
